მცხეთა- მთიანეთი - მხარე აღმოსავლეთ საქართველოში, მოიცავს ისტორიულ-გეოგრაფიული პროვინციების შიდა ქართლის, ერწო-თიანეთის, ფშავის, ხევსურეთის,  მთიულეთის,  გუდამაყრის,  ქსნის ხევის ტერიტორიებს. მხარის ფართობი შეადგენს 6785 კვ.კმ-ს, მოსახლეობა– 125 ათასს, მოსახლეობის სიმჭიდროვე 1 კვ.კმ-ზე– 18.    რეგიონის საერთაშორისო კოდია:  GE-MM.
