Political movement “Conservative party of georgia” (for By- elections)

Conservative Party of Georgia was founded in 2001. The first chairperson elected was Zviad Dzidziguri. In May of 2005 two parties – National Unity Party of Georgia and Conservative Party - were united. The leader of the Union is Zviad Dzidziguri.

Party is a representative of Georgian Right-centrists. It strives for protection of rights of socially disadvantaged population – pensioners and unemployed.

Party’s vision is declared in Saguramo manifesto of October 17, 2007. State transformation to the model of Parliamentarian Republic, maintenance of elected self-government, independent courts, creation of guarantees for protection of property and investments, free media, European integration and a peaceful arrangement of territorial conflicts – these are main directions of the Conservative Party. Conservatives consider preservation of Georgian national identity - as an oldest Christian country – essential, particularly in the modern times of cultural and economic expansion. European integration for Conservatives first of all means reintegration to the European cultural and economic area and not demolition of own cultural borders and establishment of military bases of foreign countries.

Party Stucture

The main governing body is a Party Congress that has to be called at least 3 months prior to Parliamentary elections. Participants of the Congress are members of National Committee, Parliament, Council of regional organization; chairmen of all levels of regional organizations of the Party and its youth organization.  Executive body is a General Assembly that consists of 7 members. Party has the youth organization which is leaded by Lado Bulbulashvili. Youth organization unites Party members that are below the age of 35 years. 3rd Party Congress that took place on Spring 2009 elected the Chairperson Zviad Dzidziguri, the Secretary General - Kakha Kukava, and Members of the National Committee: Davit Batsikadze,Giga Bukia, Merab Kchakhidze, Bidzina Gudjabidze and Lasha Chkartishvili.
