By tricking us into giving them our election number 5, they will definitely not prove able to “cross out” our merits;
neither will they manage to pluck from the people’s memories the path we have followed,” declared one of the leaders of the National movement, Gigi Ugulava at the party’s congress.
“By some contrivances and some crule expedients, they seized our traditional number 5. You know this act from them gave me a good laugh; are they so gullible to hope that by taking this step they will make the path we have followed disappear? Do they think this will make people forget how we brought down Shevardnadze’s corrupt soviet government, or how we reprieved the people from Alsan Abashidze’s criminal regime? Do they suppose that by doing this they will “cross out” all our merits, or our everlasting fight for our country’s well-being? No and No; they will never prove able to crush one of the most patriotic powers in our country; the power that is strongly determined to lead Georgia out of hard times is impossible to defeat,” Ugulava said.
