We are trying to regulate relations with our northern neighbor, newly elected President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili said on BBC World TV.
As the elected president said, on October 27 Georgia made a historic choice, which has reiterated our nation's centuries-old progress towards Europe.
"We are reinforcing relations with Europe in political and economic direction. We are trying to rebuild economic ties with Russia, reduce the tensions that exist in conflict regions and settle relations with our Northern neighbor,"- said Giorgi Margvelashvili.
Georgia’s newly- also spoke about the balance of power reached between the branches of the government in accordance with the country's new constitution. Giorgi Margvelashvili stressed the fact that the Prime Minister's resignation is an important precedent and creates the balanced democratic system that is not based on the existence of saviors and salvagers but it has politicians who serve people.
According to him, the next step in integration with Europe will be the Vilnius summit. Margvelashvili says Georgia will join the Association Agreement with Europe at the summit, which will promote the country’s affiliation with the European family.
