The statement by the Minister of Corrections says, the media outlets accredited in CEC will be able to observe elections in prison. The Ministry expresses full readiness to conduct elections in the penitentiary system.
“The representatives of the media outlets will have right to audio and video record only in the area allocated for the polling station. The recording must be carried out by following the 60th article, part four of the imprisonment code. Namely, recording a defendant/convict is possible only in case of consent”, the Ministry informs.
According to the Ministry, the goal of the Ministry is to promote holding democratic, free and transparent elections in the penitentiary system
