Restoration of damaged electricity network is underway in Kumisi
13 July, 2015
Efforts to restore the electric network damaged by fire in Kumisi have begun. The fire almost completely destroyed electricity cables and damaged the poles supporting them, which resulted in 125 EPG customers in Kumisi losing electricity supply. In order to repair the network, EPG technical teams started to remove the damaged wooden poles and replace them with reinforced concrete ones.

In line with aforementioned activities, the fire damaged cables are also being replaced. The company’s technical services are working in an emergency mode in order to restore electricity supply to affected districts as soon as possible. This activity is very intense, and presumably, part of the blackout will be rectified tomorrow evening.

Along with repair and restoration, logistics responsible for delivering all the necessary materials to the area are being implemented and the damage done by the fire is being calculated.
