International Center for Civic Culture (ICCC)

Mission

“International Center for Civic Culture” was founded in 1996. The first registration was in the same year, 5th of September, by the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, the registration #2677. The second registration was on 29th of December 1998, registration #03/9-65 by the Court of Chugureti District, Tbilisi.

“International Center for Civic Culture” is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit, non-governmental organization that pursues a goal to develop and foster civil society. It supports society, media, government, and non-governmental organizations through establishment of an active dialog among the members of ethnic minorities and Georgian society that promotes protection of human rights and supremacy of law.

On belief of the International Center for Civic Culture we are members of one society and each of us has an obligation to do one’s bit for the development of civic culture.

International Center for Civic Culture supports establishment of liberal democracy, peace and stability. It aspires to have a future were each person has a chance to protect its rights and freedom in accordance with the universally acknowledged principles of human rights. We believe that all citizens deserve equal representation in government. We strive to establish election methods that guarantee this fundamental human right.

Activities

Projects carried out by the International Center for Civic Culture aim advancement of democracy and the social and economic development of civil society in Georgia. We are working on projects that support development of capacities of non-governmental organizations, political parties that adhere to democratic principles, local self-governments and municipalities.

International Center for Civic Culture holds on a civic culture, values of which are pluralism and freedom. We support development of the multiparty system in Georgia. At the same time we recognize and respect the right of each individual to be a part of society. We strive to protect and foster civil society within the limits of our democratic culture.

International Center for Civic Culture creates, manages and implements civil society projects in Georgia. It develops tools, particularly methodology and techniques, which help statewide and local civil society and citizens to participate in decision-making at all levels that will enhance responsibility, equity and transparency; conduct dialog; reach consensus; and make the peaceful changes happen.
