Georgia electing 8 mayors
8 mayors will be elected in the in second round of municipal elections today. Coalition ‘’Georgian’’ Dream candidates will be competed by candidates of different political parties. In Tbilisi Davit Narmania ("Georgian Dream") is competing against Nika Melia ("United National Movement"); in Rustavi Davit Jikia ("Georgian Dream") opposes Mamuka Chikovani ("United National Movement"); in Mtskheta candidates are Avthandil Nemsitsveridze ("Georgian Dream") and David Machkhaneli ("Giorgi Gachechiladze – Greens’ Party"); Gori – Zurab Jirkvelashvili ("Georgian Dream") and Kakhaber Ergemlidze ((‘’Georgian Party"); Telavi - Platon Kalmakhelidze ("Georgian Dream") and Alex Dzuliashvili ("United National Movement"); Ozurgeti - Beglar Sioridze ("Georgian Dream") and Shota Gogiberidze ("David Tarkhan-Mouravi - Alliance of Patriots"); Batumi - Giorgi Ermakov ("Georgian Dream") and Giorgi Diasamidze ("United National Movement"); Poti – Irakloi Kakulia ("Georgian Dream") and Ushangi Gegenava ("Davit Tarkhan-Mouravi - Alliance of Patriots").
Municipal elections were held across the country on June 15. Only four cities managed to choose mayors.
