As the chairperson of the CEC of Georgia said at a special briefing, the election administration is an independent body and its activity will be influenced by not any political power.
Tamar Zhvania responded to the statement made by the head of the "National Movement" election HQ, Gigi Ugulava. "We call on all the parties to show more competence and responsibility while discussing the election-related issues and not to judge the work of the election administration on the basis of the narrow political interests. It is not the competence of the chairperson of the CEC to announce the date of second round of municipal elections. We uniquely define that the runoff date will be announced in accordance with the law after the adoption of the final protocol and completion of all judicial proceedings,"- said Tamar Zhvania. To be reminded, the "National Movement" addresses the Central Election Commission of Georgia to announce the date of second round of municipal elections. As one of the leaders of the United National Movement Gigi Ugulava said, if the date of second round is not announced, there will be a deal between the government and the Central Election Commission.
