For the first time in my life I have to prove that 27 is not equal to 6, parliamentary minority leader Davit Bakradze said in response to the government's statements as per which the fact that the National Movement got 6% in majoritarian districts means that the party has a 6% of support in population.
Bakradze accused the government of manipulation with figures in the Rustavi 2 talk show.
‘I have been in politics for so many years, I have heard many things – I have heard of rigging of elections before elections and on the election day, but for the fist time in my life I have to protect the election results after they are announced and prove that 27 is more than 6. I find it very difficult even though I am a physicist. Let’s take a very simple example – second round will be held in Tbilisi, and the National Movement and the Georgian Dream will compete against each other. This is a simple answer – these parties showed best results in Tbilisi. The same situation is in Rustavi, Telavi, Kvareli, Khoni, Terjola, Batumi, etc. The fact that the majority of second rounds will be held with the participation of the National Movement is a simple answer to everything. The second argument is that we won elections in 6 % of districts, meaning majority of people supported us in these districts and we defeated the Georgian Dream. It does not mean that our support is 6 % in the population. If it were so, we would not be able to defeat the Georgian Dream. Did they get 2% in these districts? Saying that we have 6% of support is absolutely wrong’, Bakradze said.
According to him, the government is busy with drinking champagne while it has not said a word about if it got the main message from the people – why 60 % of people did not go to polls.
